Bioactive Compounds and Fatty Acid Composition of New Turkish Hazelnut Cultivars

This study was carried out to determine oil content, total phenolics, flavonoids, and antioxidant activity (according DPPH FRAP assay) of Corylus colurna (Turkish hazel), 18 Turkish standard hazelnut cultivars (Corylus avellana cvs. Tombul, Palaz, Çak?ldak, Fo?a, Mincane, Sivri, Kara, ?ncekara, Kal?nkara, Cavcava, Yuvarlak Badem, Yass? Kargalak, Uzunmusa, Kan, Allahverdi, Okay 28, Giresun Melezi) 2 clones cl. Ku? Ac?). Total phenolics the varied between 28.04 g GAE 100 g?1 dw C. 113.01 (Allahverdi). The highest obtained from ‘Yuvarlak Badem’ cultivar (269 mmol TE dw) ‘Çak?ldak’ (25.37 dw). ‘Kan’ had significantly higher flavonoids (6.50 QE than other genotypes. ratio observed in ‘Sivri’ (72.6%) lowest ‘Giresun Melezi’ (57.2%). Present findings revealed that among newly registered Turkey, ‘Allahverdi’ prominent for activity; ‘Okay 28? content protein fatty acids.
